Since it’s Barbie Month, and Barbie is everywhere! I could not help but be inspired by all the recent content. While my daughter is not quite into Barbie yet (only the Aqua song that is played on repeat over my car speakers), I’m hoping she’ll let me throw her a Barbie party one day. But until that day comes, a mom can only dream up some fun ways to party with Barbie!
The amazing thing about Barbie is that there are a hundred different directions you can go with a themed party for really any occasion. Barbie had so many roles over the decades, that you are guaranteed to find a Barbie theme to fit whomever you are celebrating. A Barbie theme is great for birthday celebrations, bachelorette parties, wedding showers, weddings, and most recently at home movie premieres! While my bachelorette and wedding days are behind me. It’s still fun to envision what a bachelorette party could look like! Especially since new creative ideas are constantly coming on the scene. Now in my mom era, I’m loving creating and celebrating my kids whenever I can.
I created some inspiration boards with some of my favorite Barbie themes I’m currently seeing. And with it being summer, why wouldn’t Malibu Barbie be at the top of that list?!
As a summer birthday girl, who always dreamed of having her very own pool party, I could not love this theme more! The bright colors, the outside venue, and, the endless summer party favors (which are also practical and reusable, bonus!). And if you’re not a pool fan? Take it to the beach with seashells, and surfboards. Maybe even Mermaid Barbie could make an appearance! The possibilities are endless!
Next, we can not forget about Glam Barbie.This theme is bold and glamorous. And while I’ve just shown inspiration more focused on celebrating a birthday, this theme is spot on for brides to be!
I’m obsessed with the pink carpet entrance! I mean what little girl would not love for her, and her friends to walk into a party with a pink carpet and a bunch of “paparazzi” taking their pictures?! And with this theme, I think you can never have too much sparkle. Another great addition or activity would be a glam station, where all the girls can glow up. You can even add glitter hair extensions for everyone!
Last, but certainly not least is Classic Barbie. You can not go wrong with the OG Barbie theme party! And in my opinion, it’s one of the prettiest, most feminine option for any Barbie lover out there.
The biggest pro of focusing on the Original Barbie theme for your party, is there is an endless amount of resources to finding exactly what you need. With some of the other themes mentioned, you might need to do a little heavier lifting to find specific items to complete your vision. But with Classic Barbie being around for decades you’re sure to find the items you are looking for to complete the look! Come on, who doesn’t love to see pink everywhere?!
