Events have been in my wheelhouse for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I was always fascinated at how they came together. Whether it was a sports banquet, graduation party, career fair, marathons, festivals, or holiday get togethers, I was on the sidelines taking in as much as I could to understand all that went into putting that event on. But what a lot of us in the industry learn to know, is that there is a lot of hard work happening behind closed doors. We like to call this the iceberg effect. Its where all the blood, sweat, and sometimes tears are happening beneath the surface, but above the surface you always see beauty and perfection.
What does this have to do with Hometown Hostess? Well, I want people to know that events are not just about the bright lights, yummy food, and pretty pictures. A lot of work goes into making these events happen. While we’re not all hosting full on conferences in our hometowns, smaller more intimate events still have plenty of work that needs to go into them. Are you not sure where to begin? Want to impress with an instagram worthy party, but just you just don’t have the time? Or do you love getting together with your favorite people, but need some new inspiration? That’s where I hope to come in as a resource for you! I want this space to be a place where you can come for event guidance, tips, inspiration, and even local recommendations (Hey Southeast Michigan, I’m talking to you!) on how to be your own perfect Hometown Hostess. Expect to see information on all kinds of events that you would be hosting in your own backyard or hometown. Whether that would be birthday celebrations, wedding and baby showers, anniversaries, holidays, or dinner parties. The list goes on and on!
